Malware!!!

I'm a little behind on these so I have to catch up before next class!!! Two classes ago I learned about Malware and the different names/forms it comes in. There were viruses, worms backdoors and rootkit. I found this information really useful because it helps to know what type of virus you are dealing with to help get ride of it. We then continued on to learn a little about some big viruses history. There was the Virus coined which would infect other programs, and there was even the ILOVEYOU Worm that casued a lot of damage. We then went to learn about Honeypots and how they collect malware, and that the two main types are low interaction and high interaction. After class I got to go on to my vm workstation and install nepenthes and play around with it. We also went and installed wireshark on another vm and I know more about this program so I had a way better idea of what I was looking at and doing with it.

New Class

Hi All,

This is the first time I have ever blogged so take it easy if this looks bad. I have never been interested in blogging, but in this new class I have for marks so I guess I am going to give it a try. I am really looking forward to this class because it is going to teach us about hacking. I am looking forward to it because I think it is interesting to see how people can hack into unsecured places, like the Sony network for example. I also want to learn how to make my network safer. At my job I would like to try some of these new techniques I learn to make sure we have a safe network. I also am looking forward to using the VM's we had to make because I like using VMware!! That is all for today more soon thou.
